Pedestrian bridge in the Westensee Nature Park

Highlight • Bridge

A very beautiful, but later very bumpy and sometimes muddy, path follows.
The bridge, by the way, seems to be intended more for walking.

Highlight • Viewpoint

Beautiful, wide view over the Westensee.
The path there is very easy to drive on (asphalt) and if you come from the right direction, it also goes downhill very nicely. ;)

Unfortunately, there is not much of a clear view of the lakes. "Normal" bike tours are not possible everywhere due to the condition of the paths.

The lowest point is of course not true. The GPS failed there!
Otherwise a wonderful tour through a super beautiful area.

Attention, this tour has many good sections - just not on the Ahrensee and the northern Westensee. My recommendation to go over the back guard! The Westensee circuit is one of the most beautiful in Holstein Land.

Our Westensee tour also included a visit to the inn at Westensee to enjoy a delicious "Westenseeburger". Unfortunately, it won't be open again until June. Then we had a delicious ice cream at Noosh in Bransbek😋. The muddy path between Westensee and Ahrensee was a challenge for cyclists in places, more of a single trail😅. A detour took us to …

Today we wanted to cycle around the Westensee again 💙...

I think this beautiful piece of earth on our doorstep is just great 🥰...

The weather is also playing along, even if the sun is having a hard time today: It's nice & warm, hardly any wind - the best⛅️...

Easter Sunday 🐇🐣 Yesterday a flat, fresh and windy commute in the Meldorf Bay on the "real" North Sea - today a comparatively short but hilly round with a few degrees more in the Rendsburg-Eckernförde district around the Westensee. There was a bit of sea feeling for free through the little town "Klein Nordsee" 😉

Beautiful tour along the Eider and between the Ahrensee / Westensee. Some inclines test the condition. A number of places invite you to linger. A few localities offer refreshments (Felde and Westensee). Route is mostly paved sand/gravel road. Many sections also provide enough shade.
