The circular route (total just over 5km) includes the actual rock path (higher and leading over rocks, some stairs and steep hiking trails - good footwear recommended) and a comfortable walk down along the Selbitz. We hiked along the Selbitz and back over the rock path. Personally, I found it so much cheaper. In other direction you can rest on the way back, which is certainly not bad.

The rocky path is best walked from Blechschmiedenhammer towards Hölle (Hell). There are many steps at varying heights, making it easier to walk uphill.
