    Great vantage point north of Harra, accessible via a narrow forest path. From the seating area you can enjoy the beautiful view and peace.

      Actually, the whole valley at Harra is very nice no matter where you look. The totenfels, however, is the highlight with its name and the rock formations.

        If you come from the direction of Lobenstein, formerly Lemnitzhammer, left after the railway line towards Harra Nord station, but do not turn there, but continue straight ahead in the forest, you will come to a vantage point with a bench (great view of the Saale, which makes an arc there ) and further to the edge of the forest, across the meadow slightly to the right up to the trees. Then you'll be on Totenfels in the evening. Many trees felled after storms, bench in place. The rock can only be admired from Harra across the Saale. You can reach Harra if you continue down the path and turn left through the railway underpass to the Saalebrücke. It is very high and steep.

                  The trees have suffered noticeably from the last two dry summers. A lot of clearing work can be seen. Still, great views from up there. Coming from Harra it is a steep climb. Seating available. If you hike a few meters towards Saaldorf you will find a well-kept, covered seating area.
