Oude Leije (officially, Frisian: Alde Leie) is a village in the municipality of Leeuwarden, in the Dutch province of Friesland. Oude Leije is located between Stiens and Oudebildtzijl, on the border of the municipality of Waadhoeke. Two houses within the built-up area of Oude Leije have Oudebildtzijl and Vrouwenparochie as postal addresses respectively, so the village is partly located in the municipality of Waadhoeke.

The Frisian village of Oudebildtzijl has a protected village view. It is one of the so-called 'Villages of Tradition': one of the European rural villages where cultural heritage is actively preserved.

The Zwarte Haan is uniquely located at the foot of the Wadden Sea dike and is surrounded by nature, peace and space. There is a lovely restaurant on a monumental farm

The 'Slikwerker' The slikwerkers of 1505-1754 who succeeded in draining the entire Bildt with a shovel and a cart.

There's a nice restaurant (Restaurant De Zwarte Haan) for a coffee break or a nice meal
