The Grienedyk cycle path, located along the Sneekermeer, offers cyclists a scenic route with panoramic views over the water and surrounding nature reserves. This path is part of several cycle routes around the Sneekermeer and is well maintained, which ensures a comfortable ride. Along the dike there are bird watching points, bat and sand martin caves, and information boards that tell more about the rich flora and fauna of the area.

This is a lowland peat area consisting of a complex of lakes, watercourses, reservoirs and summer polders. The water was created by erosion of the peat layer. That the erosion is still continuing today is clearly visible from the small islands, which are clearly eroding. Very beautiful nature, great cycle paths.

Story Langweer used to only be reached by water. It was a swampland, and it was only in 1856 that it was connected to the outside world via the Brédyk (dyke) via Sint Nicolaasga. In the 1990s, Langweer became a popular tourist town due to its picturesque streets and water sports opportunities. One of the main events is Skutsjesilen, a sailing race that takes place every summer. The name Langweer is derived from the Frisian name Langwar. The Sweachmermolen is a mill between Langweer and Boornzwaag, Friesland, Netherlands, built in 1782. The mill has two functions: it is a drainage mill and a corn mill. It has been put back into service as a drainage mill and is recognized as a national monument.
