The Wyldemerk is a nature reserve with an idyllic lake connected to the Slotermeer and the Fluessen rivers. It was created by sand extraction and has evolved into a unique landscape of forests, wet grasslands, and ponds, home to a variety of birds and insects. Kingfishers enjoy flying over the water, and dozens of species can be spotted in the dragonfly reserve in summer.

The Reformed Church "De Fontein" dates from 1790 and was built on the remains of a 13th-century tuff stone predecessor. Later, in 1926, a second nave was added to the north side. As a national monument, the church stands out for its unique features, such as the cast bell, the pulpit, the baptismal font, the stained-glass window, and the organ. During the summer months, the church opens its doors on Saturday afternoons to visitors who wish to explore or enjoy a quiet conversation.

A small pond in the middle of the forest. There's a bench on one side for a quick rest. A bridge crosses the pond. A very beautiful, unexpected place.

In the Bos Elfbergen lies a beautiful pond that you can admire from an idyllic wooden bridge. This largest forest in Gaasterland, created in the 19th century, offers a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees that give the whole a fairytale atmosphere. Walk or cycle along the winding paths and enjoy the peace, the view of the water and the surrounding nature.
