Bronkhorst Castle was a castle in the municipality of Bronckhorst, located west of the center of Bronkhorst, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The castle hill that is still present is a protected national monument and is located in a nature reserve of approximately six hectares that is managed by Staatsbosbeheer. The empty castle hill was transferred to the State of the Netherlands by the Metelerkamp heirs in 1962 and has been managed by Staatsbosbeheer ever since. A smaller bronze model of the former castle has been on the castle hill since 2015.

Very surprising to suddenly encounter such a medieval building on this beautiful walk. The landscape takes you back to earlier times and is still very authentic. Beautiful alternation of old forests and open fields with heathland and fens.

Beautiful castle. You walk right up to it from behind the hospital. Moreover, you walk straight into the forest.

Private, nice to look at from the outside.

Beautiful castle that is reminiscent of a small version of Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn. The castle is still inhabited by a count's family and is only open to a limited extent during the summer months. However, you can also enjoy the beautiful country house and gardens from outside the canals. There are a few beautiful gravel roads around the country house where you can cycle.
