History and stories surround the town of Ramsdorf, which was a much-contested base for the Prince-Bishopric of Münster in medieval feuds: the old castle with its origins in 1425 still bears witness to this today. In the heart of the Ramsdorf town center, the castle is now a popular attraction. The historic rooms invite you to take an interesting excursion into local history, as the Ramsdorf Castle Museum is also located here. We recommend the exhibition in the cellar vaults with information about the nearby barrows. The historic castle hall now serves primarily cultural purposes and offers couples a beautiful setting for a civil wedding.

Diepenbrock Castle, also known as Diepenbrock House, is a small, charming moated castle near Barlo, a district of Bocholt. The property got its name from the Westphalian expression for the impassable marshland that once surrounded it. Because "diepen brock" means something like "deep fracture". This no longer does justice to the beautiful house today: a picturesque park with old trees worth seeing invites you to take relaxing walks through the beautiful nature. In the neighboring café you can then make yourself comfortable for coffee and cake and enjoy the view of a lake. On Sundays, the restaurant also offers a delicious brunch. www.muensterland.com
