Need a break or just a cup of coffee? It's always busy in good weather, as the monastery is conveniently located on several beautiful cycling routes. There's also a small shop at the monastery where you can buy various abbey beers.

The Abbey of St. Benedict of Achel, officially called the Abbey of Our Lady of La Trappe, popularly known as the Achelse Kluis, is a former Cistercian abbey located partly on Belgian and partly on Dutch territory; the Belgian part in the municipality of Hamont-Achel, the Dutch part in the municipality of Heeze-Leende. The abbey was known, among other things, for the beer of the same name, Achel, which has been brewed in its own brewery since 1998. Very large beer garden with covered, but also sunny, places.
