An almost mystical place in the early morning, when the sun slowly makes its way through the trees, with an incredible array of green tones. Simply unwind and hike uphill – fantastic.

Nice place to take a short break.

It's easily doable for any experienced hiker, as it's a well-prepared trail. Only when it's wet and has rained beforehand can it be a bit slippery in places. I think the "difficult" rating for this route is a bit overrated.

Beautifully situated small lake, with beautiful reflections in calm weather

From here you have a particularly good view of the Kops reservoir with its massive dam.

Don't forget to fill up your water bottles, there is a small fountain with seating on the right

Around Lake Wiegensee, you can discover the various stages of moorland development. From slowly silting lakes to transitional moors and raised bogs, you'll find everything in a very small space. Add to that the beautiful flora in early summer and the impressive mountain panorama.
