The Ru du Mont is an ancient irrigation canal originally built in the 14th century. Today, it's a popular hiking trail for its linearity and evocative views. Along the route, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Grand Combin mountain range and the Valpelline valley below. In some sections, you can still see the ancient stone canal structures.

A short climbing section with a rope just before the Chiarella Hut. Not a problem in summer and dry conditions. Danger of slipping in wet and cold conditions. Gloves might be a good idea.

A lovely, small, old cabin with charm. Restrooms are in a separate building 50 meters away. Uncomfortable during a snowstorm ;-) Designed for about 20 people, plus a winter room for about 8 people; volunteers provide warm hospitality.
