The village of Cloutra can be reached by car from Pontey. From Cloutra the dirt road starts that goes up to Alpe Valmeriana, the base for the final climb to Mount Barbeston (m 2482).

Charming but rusted, I'd steer away from attempting to climb or walk across it without a tetanus shot and an acceptance of possible accidents. You can enjoy a beautiful scene from across the bridge though, see the picture I've attached.
