It used to be a sheet metal bivouac that has been replaced by this beautiful, well-furnished, unattended chalet. It's a good location for continuing toward Lake Glasier or Lake Medzove and then descending to hike around. Continuing down the valley, you can see the Tersiva peak, already 3,500 meters high, on the right.

One of the most exciting and panoramic views from the valley. In addition to the beautiful views of the Matterhorn and the Rosa, you can see the beautiful lakes of Medzove (where you can go down to make a loop from Clavalitè) and the lac Glacier.

The bivouac is the most well-stocked I have ever seen. The most important information: it has a kitchen with gas and tap water (not controlled), it has an external fountain, also not controlled. BE VERY CAREFUL, in winter there is no water, you have to either get it downstream, i.e. in Fenis, or use the water from the many streams (if not frozen) and boil it. It has a working stove and lots of wood. It has blankets and pillows that can be used on each of the 20 bunk beds.

The carved wooden furniture in this imposing fortress is typical of the Aosta Valley. In the courtyard and in the chapel, frescoes from the Gothic studio of Giacomo Jacquerio depict the lives of the most important saints and those of many sages and philosophers.

Located in the Valle d'Aosta region of Italy, the Castello di Fénis is one of the most famous medieval castles in the region. It attracts visitors with its abundance of towers and battlements. Although it has an impressive defensive structure, it is located on a small hill and not in an inaccessible place. In fact, it was originally intended as a prestigious residence for the Challant family. The courtyard has a semi-circular stone staircase and wooden balconies. At the top of the stairs is a 15th century fresco of Saint George slaying the dragon. The rooms are decorated with wooden furniture from that period.

Unlike other castles, built for war and protection purposes, Fénis Castle is not located on the top of a promontory, but on a slight hill with no natural defenses. Combining the characteristics of the fortification with those of the noble residence, the castle of Fénis was in fact the prestigious representative seat of the major exponents of the Challant family.

One of the many paths that go around what is one of the jewels of the Aosta Valley. A great show. I advise each of you to drop by on foot or by bike thanks to the comfortable and safe cycle and pedestrian path of the Dora Baltea.

20 beds, blankets, stove, stove and firewood, water and toilet. The latter are not available in winter due to the risk of frost.
