The Hell Canyon Trail is a popular trail in Black Hills National Forest. It is a moderately difficult trail, but with a gentle elevation change, so it can be enjoyed by people with a wide variety of skill levels.

Hell Canyon Trail is a fun ride that can be pretty exposed with a few technical sections. One of those sections being a one mile traverse where the trail cuts across a steeply sloped hill where a fall could be disastrous. But the views and the downhill back make it a worth while ride.

Center Lake is a little quieter than some of the other lakes in the area. This picturesque lake offers a picnic area, playground and small beach. As well as a campground that is ideal for tents and small campers.

At 785 acres Pactola Lake is the largest and deepest reservoir in the Black Hills National Forest. It is a popular outdoor destination with facilities including a campground, swim beach, picnic area, boat launches and day use trails.

Beautiful lake within the Black Hills. The water is surrounded by forest and is usually not busy, so it is a great place to sit in the shade and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.

Canyon Lake is part of one of the oldest city parks of Rapid City. The park has several picnic areas, a fishing bridge, paddle boat rentals. The Leonard Swanson Memorial Trail runs along the lake for a bit, making it a perfect stop for a break.

The Roosevelt Pond sits in the middle of the lower loop of Roosevelt Park, so you will be close to the pond most time of your hike around the park. It's a nice spot to take a little rest.
