Magnificent valley once dedicated to mountain pastures. Close to the cross-country ski track in winter and on a mountain bike track in summer

A karst depression vaguely reminiscent of an amphitheater, with the forest road surrounding it and the white rocks emerging from the green meadow: an extremely evocative and peaceful bucolic spot! The entire area is characterized by a wide variety of karst phenomena: unique furrowed fields are everywhere, sometimes reaching 2-3 meters deep; within a radius of 200 meters are numerous underground cavities that descend to a hundred meters; the busa itself is a karst depression. The current structures are renovated military barracks from the Great War

La Busa del Molton (Montone in Italian) is a very interesting place from a landscape point of view, you can admire meadows dotted with particular rock formations that make them truly suggestive. Among shepherds it indicates the place where the sheep are gathered in spring to be sheared. The area is nothing more than a karst depression and the scattered rocks are probably of moraine origin. There are therefore numerous underground cavities with depths of up to a hundred metres. Here there is a small house (Baito) equipped with 6 mattresses, a stove and more, so you can spend the night sheltered from the weather.

From this refuge and its surroundings you can admire beautiful views. It can be used as a starting point for many excursions (I recommend including a visit to Lago delle Prese which is only 20 minutes from the refuge). The road to get to the refuge, with a perfect asphalt surface, is a little narrow, but almost always enough for two cars to pass, slow down and be careful. It's worth walking because the nature in these parts is wonderful.
