In 1500, the site where the building stands belonged to the Valier family, while the management of the land had been entrusted by the owners to the procurators of San Marco. The procurators subsequently sold the plots of land to Federico Foscari, who died in 1527, leaving his assets to his sons Alvise, Giacomo, and Ferigo. The villa was commissioned by Nicolò and Alvise Foscari in 1555, as Giorgio Vasari also recalls in "The Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors, and Architects," Florence 1568. Nicolò died before seeing it completed. An inscription in his memory was placed on the façade, under the tympanum: "Nicolaus et aloysius Foscari fratres Federici Filii." Villa Malcontenta is a splendid Venetian villa, well preserved and managed, with frescoed interiors and a visitable garden. The complete visit takes about 30-40 minutes, and at the entrance there is a guide with the history of the villa. It is recommended to park before the residents-only entrance.

Villa Pisani is the most famous of the "Venetian Villas" along the Riviera del Brenta. The visit to this Museum requires the payment of a ticket of 12 euros.
