As modest as an old farmhouse, surmounted by a simple wooden bell tower, the Corvinus Church in the center of the former village of Erichshagen is nevertheless steeped in ancient tradition and history. It was built as a half-timbered structure in 1757/58 to replace an older chapel dating back to 1620, which still stood on the Amtshof (official farm) in Wölpe, and is today considered the westernmost half-timbered church in Northern Germany. Why the then bailiff Uden decided to demolish the old chapel and build a new one in the village of Erichshagen remains a mystery. The chapel most likely became too small for the population, as with just under 500 inhabitants, Erichshagen was the largest village in the Amt Wölpe (district of Wölpe). In addition to donations from other parishes and private individuals, the Amt Wölpe also contributed to the construction of the new church and paid for the installation of a pulpit where the bailiff, his clerk, and the district judge could listen to services. To access the church, a separate staircase was built at the rear of the church for the officials, which is still in use today. After the church's completion in 1759, the late Baroque white pulpit altar, decorated with gold and red ornaments, was erected. A pedestrian bridge opened in 2000, connecting Nienburg's city center with the western bank of the Weser River. It was built on the site of the first Nienburg Weser Bridge. This historic pedestrian bridge connects the city center with the district on the western bank. In the 18th century, the first stone Weser bridge was built on this site as a gift from King George of England. Until the end of the 19th century, this Weser crossing was the only one in the area. When a larger bridge was built a few hundred meters downstream, the first pedestrian bridge was built here, but it was destroyed in World War II.
