Very idyllic location, in the middle of nature.

The Franzenmühle is mentioned for the first time in 1626. In 1676 the name "Franzen" appears in documents. The name of the mill remains to this day. The mill originally had a mill pond and mill race. The mill wheel was operated overshot. It remained in operation until 1930. Only in 1991 was it converted into a weekend house. The mill race still exists, but no longer carries water. The mill pond is a little further above the mill in the forest.

Station 6 of the themed trail "Traces of Camomile Traud" - church and traditions, beliefs and limitations. Holy houses, also called prayer houses or wayside shrines, can be found in the Eifel on many roads and paths, on the edges of forests or in the middle of the villages. They were often donated by families who wanted to profess their faith or express gratitude. Traud and her mother probably also prayed at such a holy house for safe accommodation, work, food and for being treated well.

The subject of agriculture is dealt with at the 7th and last station on the trail of Camomile Traud. In Traud's time there was arable land, mainly potatoes, cereals and legumes, where grassland is predominantly to be seen today.
