The Caminau castle ruins, with their three round towers, are an artificial ruin built in the 21st century and opened to the public after 2012. They are the highlight of the Caminau biotope network, which was constructed as part of the remediation and recultivation of the former open-cast mining site of the Caminau calamine works.

The church was built after 1450 outside the city wall over an old Spree crossing. According to legend, it was a token of gratitude from the citizens for saving the city from the Hussite attack of 1429, attributed to Archangel Michael. The vault, with its paintings, which are still largely preserved in their original form, was completed in 1498. Since 1619, the church has served as a place of worship for the townspeople surrounding Bautzen. It was often damaged in various wars but never destroyed. The Wendish Tower, or Serbska wěža in Sorbian, is part of Bautzen's medieval city fortifications. It is located on the northeastern edge of the old town and is now structurally connected to Gottfried Semper's Old Barracks (Stara kaserna). The Student Tower in Bautzen. Information: It is a listed historical monument and one of the older of Bautzen's city towers. A tower of Bautzen's medieval city fortifications and a former city gate. The tower's roof was destroyed by a lightning strike and was rebuilt in its current form in 1833.

The square in front of the city wall at the Reichenturm has had a variety of uses throughout history: tanners and cloth makers were located here, parades were held, and grain was traded. In 1999, the square was redesigned and provided with three water basins. The designs were by K. and W. Korn, and the layout is somehow reminiscent of windows and roofs.
