The Wendish Tower, or Serbska wěža in Sorbian, is part of Bautzen's medieval city fortifications. It is located on the northeastern edge of the old town and is now structurally connected to Gottfried Semper's Old Barracks (Stara kaserna). The ponds of Brösa were created for fish farming. When the paths between the ponds are dry, you can take a short detour to admire the beautiful ponds, often covered in reeds.

The extensive pond landscape north of Bautzen surprised me. A beautiful section of the Spree cycle path.

An opportunity to cool off on hot days. There is also a place to stop for refreshments.
