나폴리 왕궁은 플레비시토 광장에 면해 있으며 1600년에 스페인 부왕들의 거주지로 설립되어 이후 부르봉 왕가와 사보이 왕가의 본거지가 되었습니다. 건물에는 바로크와 신고전주의 양식으로 장식된 방들과 국립 도서관이 있는 역사적 아파트가 있습니다. 주요 파사드는 나폴리를 통치한 왕조의 군주들을 묘사하는 외부 벽감 속 여덟 개의 조각상으로 유명합니다. 갤러리아 움베르토 1세와 산 카를로 극장에서 불과 몇 걸음 떨어져 있으며 도시의 기념비적인 중심부의 핵심을 이룹니다. 또 다른 놓칠 수 없는 명소입니다!

King Charles VII of Naples had to reside here after his accession to the throne in 1735. It is a magnificent palace in the middle of the city. But it was not representative enough for King Charles. In 1752 he had a palace built in Caserta. He wanted to move the court there after it was finished. But this did not happen because before it was finished he became King of Spain as Charles III.

The Royal Palace of Naples was founded as the palace of the King of Spain Philip III of Habsburg in the year 1600, on the initiative of the viceroy Fernando Ruiz de Castro Count of Lemos and the vicereine Catarina Zuñiga y Sandoval. Its urban location next to the Palazzo Vicereale Vecchio, later demolished, and the gardens of Castel Nuovo continues the traditional position of the royal residence in Naples on the southern edge of the old city, with the façade facing west, where the large open space of the Largo di Palazzo opens up.

In the off-season (end of October) I was even able to get a guided tour at 2pm without booking in advance.

Its history goes back to the first half of the 16th century, when the Spanish viceroy Pedro Álvarez de Toledo had a castle built at the port of Naples. The architect Domenico Fontana was commissioned to build a new building around 1600, which was largely completed by 1620. In 1735 it became the royal residence when the Kingdom of Naples gained its independence under Charles VII. Various extensions and reconstruction work took place in the following decades. The Official and Authorized route of Napoli Sotterranea starts from Piazza San Gaetano 68, on Via dei Tribunali next to the Basilica of San Paolo Maggiore.
