King Charles VII of Naples had to reside here after his accession to the throne in 1735. It is a magnificent palace in the middle of the city. But it was not representative enough for King Charles. In 1752 he had a palace built in Caserta. He wanted to move the court there after it was finished. But this did not happen because before it was finished he became King of Spain as Charles III.

The Royal Palace of Naples was founded as the palace of the King of Spain Philip III of Habsburg in the year 1600, on the initiative of the viceroy Fernando Ruiz de Castro Count of Lemos and the vicereine Catarina Zuñiga y Sandoval. The Galleria Umberto I is a shopping arcade in the old town of Naples. It is covered with a large glass dome and is located directly opposite the world-famous Teatro San Carlo opera house. The gallery was built between 1887 and 1890 according to plans by Emmanuele Rocco and Ernesto di Mauro and was part of the urban renewal after the cholera epidemic of 1884. The passage consists of two crossing arms that have been covered with a barrel-shaped glass roof.

Piazza Dante is one of Naples' most important squares and is located in the historic city center. Dante Square It forms the beginning of the Via Toledo and flows along the Decumano Maggiore via the entrance to Port'Alba on the north side of the square.
