The Ratzeburg Cathedral (also: Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John the Evangelist) is an outstanding example of Romanesque brick architecture in Northern Germany.

The so-called Jägerdenkmal in Ratzeburg commemorates the more than 2,800 soldiers of the Lauenburg Jäger Battalion who died in the First World War. It was designed by Franz Blazek and inaugurated in 1921. The tall stele with numerous inscriptions and emblems is crowned by a horse's head. The dedication was added after the Second World War.

The Ratzeburg Cathedral stands in an elevated position on the western shore of the Domsee and can be seen from all directions, even from a distance. Here, directly opposite the eastern shore of the Domsee, you have some of the best views of the cathedral across the lake.
