Pure scenery. Whether by bike or on foot, it's currently (May) a stunning landscape. Free access with the D-Ticket. Parking is available. While you're here, be sure to visit the castle gardens around the corner.

I can't recommend the tour around Lake Plön. About 66% of the route is on unpaved, potholed forest paths. It's more of a hiking trail than a bike path. The route is very, very poorly signposted.

The lake has a round shape with a bay in the north and is about 1400 meters long and 1100 meters wide. It has a size of about 108 hectares and a maximum depth of 19.2 meters, which it reaches in the middle. The lake is fed by rather insignificant tributaries.
