The magnificent Kamp Monastery in Kamp-Lintfort was founded in 1123 as the first Cistercian monastery in German-speaking countries. Stroll through the beautiful and well-kept terraced gardens and treat yourself to a piece of cake in the lovely donation-based café. The herb garden at the monastery is also definitely worth a visit.

If you like photographing airplanes, stand with the mill behind you at the eastern end of the take-off and landing field. The path leads right past there. With the mostly prevailing westerly winds, the planes load directly overhead. At the same time you stand behind the tow and rope start.

The NSG Egelsberg, one of ten nature reserves in Krefeld, is located on the northern outskirts of the city and is ideal for an after-work walk or a Sunday with the family.
