Quiet path - you have a very nice view over the landscape and hear the Baltic Sea more with every step. I think the animals are more likely to be seen from early summer - but I heard a lot of birds.

The sign of a Cistercian monastery are the fish ponds - that's why they also existed in Bad Doberan. The ponds are very beautifully laid out.

Small lake in the forest - unfortunately quite overgrown. I think in summer you can see more of the water surface. Water flows at the outlet to the Baltic Sea, where you can also see the water level of the lake.

The monastery ponds date back to the 13th century, when Cistercian monks from Doberan Monastery found the best conditions for building fish ponds here. They built the ponds step by step in a chain, and they were used until the 16th century. Today they are protected. With a bit of luck, you can see fire-bellied toads here. This population is one of the largest in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Old Satow church from the 13th century, over the centuries more and more bricks crumbled and the church was sold for 425 thalers for demolition. Friedrich Franz II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg, prevented further demolition. Today it is idyllically located in a small park by the lake.
