Beautiful watermill with park, which also opens its doors on Heritage Open Day.

It is very idyllic to drive along the Oste Hamme Canal here.

For one euro, you can operate the mill and let the mill wheel spin for 10 minutes. It's wonderful to listen to the rippling water.

Using the power of moving water to drive a mill wheel is an ancient invention of the human spirit of discovery, the origins of which can be traced back to times long past. Thanks to such a construction, a watercourse - natural or artificial - could simply replace human or animal muscle power with the power of the natural elements, for example to grind grain into corn or to press oil from fruit. There are essentially two different ways of driving watermills: * Either the flowing water simply hits the blades of the water wheel from below to set it in motion; or * the water is guided above the wheel - usually through a so-called "mill channel" - and falls onto the blades; this type of construction is more efficient due to natural gravity.

A natural lake in a nature reserve The Silbersee is located about 2 km south of the town of Wehdel in the municipality of Schiffdorf, Cuxhaven district, in the middle of a nature reserve. Approximately 2.0 hectares of the 6.5 hectare natural lake, with a depth of 8.00 m, are open for swimming. The facility has become a popular destination not only for nature lovers, but also for bathers who can relax and have lots of fun. A sandy beach to the north-west of the lake with a large sunbathing area, playground, football pitch, beach volleyball court, mini golf course and a bathing island invite you to linger. A spacious parking lot is available for those looking for relaxation. The Café Silbersee is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A barrier-free shower and toilets are available from May to October. Access to the lake is only partially barrier-free.

Newer bridge over the old Lune. The restaurant is currently being renovated and is scheduled to reopen this year.
