Güstrow Cathedral is part of the North German brick Gothic style and has a rich interior from the late Romanesque period to the modern era, including Ernst Barlach's Floating Man. It is spread out on the southern edge of the city and exudes a great sense of calm. The cathedral square is a special ensemble in the city. Here is the oldest school in Mecklenburg, the former court of Wallenstein, and within sight we find the Renaissance castle. The cathedral was founded in 1226 and consecrated in 1335. In 1568 it became the Protestant court church and burial place for the Güstrow royal family until 1695, when the Güstrow line died out. Beautiful bike path always along the canal. Hard sand in the first section, smooth concrete in the second section, tarmac in the third section up to Bützow. Relaxed driving.

The town hall of Güstrow originally came from the 13th century. It was rebuilt around 1800. It is located in the center of Güstrow directly on the market square in the town center and in the immediate vicinity of the Gothic parish church of St. Marien.

Oder-Havel cycle and hiking trail or simply towpath. Beautifully developed and signposted cycle path. In the time trial against the thunderstorm, unfortunately, I had to continue quite quickly. I would drive by again!
