Created between 1934 and 1936 in the Leinemasch River, this artificial lake attracts water sports enthusiasts as well as its approximately 6-kilometer-long riverside paths, inviting visitors to stroll, cycle, or jog. In recent years, it has also increasingly become a meeting place for inline skaters. Active on, at, and in the Maschsee lake The Maschsee is a suitable venue for regattas and other boat races, such as the annual dragon boat race, as well as many other water sports. Near the Sprengel Museum, there is the Maschsee North Sailing and Yachting School, which offers boat rentals. The Herrenhäuser Allee is so long that it now has several highlights, all from different locations. 😆 It is always interesting to watch the changing seasons here.

The Herrenhäuser Allee is a four-row avenue of linden trees in the Nordstadt district of Hanover. It is located in the Georgengarten and runs in a straight line for around two kilometers from Königsworther Platz to the library pavilion in the Berggarten. The Herrenhäuser Allee is closed to motor traffic. The western row with its asphalt surface is integrated into the Hanover cycle path network. The other rows have water-bound surfaces. Pétanque, among other things, is played on these rows.
