Beautiful section of the cycle path between Rosowek and Staffelde with good asphalt

Germany's only floodplain national park protects one of the few virtually intact floodplains in Europe. The diverse landscape types found in and around this floodplain create a uniquely high biodiversity of flora and fauna. The flat Oder Valley, with meadows and sparse trees, is framed by hilly forests and steep slopes. A treat for the eye and the sense of discovery. Motorized traffic is prohibited in most of the Lower Oder Valley National Park.

First mentioned as a castle at the end of the 12th century, Penkun Castle is today one of the last remaining castles of the Pomeranian Dukes. The castle association runs a border and customs museum in the former administrator's house, and there is a small exhibition on the judicial system in Pomerania in the castle cellar.

Yes, but... The rating "difficult tour" is definitely accurate. We cycled from Ahlbeck to Stettin on the east side of the St.Haff. There were challenging climbs there (south of Misdroy). The entire route only had smooth cycle paths on asphalt or slabs within/near towns. Otherwise gravel, sometimes rough. That made the 130km quite strenuous.

Picturesquely situated on the castle hill, the residence in Penkun dominates the city. In addition to the castle dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, the entire complex of buildings includes relics of a medieval stronghold, a gatehouse from 1486, a gate from 1614, the manager's house from the 18th century and a farm building built in the 19th century.

Very nice dike paths, all paths have good cycle paths. Many species of birds can be seen at this time of year.

Cross-border, asphalt section of the Blue Velo R3 bicycle path - Odrzańska Trasa Rowerowa. The road runs along the border strip. Halfway through the route there is a border road crossing - Rosówek. Required to pass the anti-ASF gate. We reach the point where the borders meet and thus the junction for Staffelde and Pargowo (also through the anti-ASF gate). A road with numerous elevation changes.
