The large meadow with a playground and a few benches is certainly the most pleasant place to spend time at the Oberpfuhl and in the Lychen town area. Boats can dock, and you could even go on a boat tour yourself, but unfortunately, there's no suitable swimming spot. No water treading either. - Still. It's absolutely idyllic here, not least because of the beautiful tall trees and the peninsula-like shape of the area.

The cemetery was located on Stargarder Straße behind the city gate and had been associated with the settlement of the Jewish community in Lychen since the 15th century.

Today, only remnants of the gate remain, including the passage above the footpath. A silhouette of the gate is depicted on the facade of the adjacent inn at the city gate, a reminder of its former importance.

According to the information board: It was Lychen's landmark: The Stargard Gate defied all adversities for more than 500 years and is depicted in numerous paintings, photographs, and postcards. The heavy traffic (at times more tanks than trucks) increasingly took its toll on the stability of the medieval structure. During a winter storm in January 1976, the gate finally collapsed – allegedly shortly after a Soviet truck crashed into it. The monument authority was planning its reconstruction at the time. However, this hasn't begun yet...

According to the information board: The cemetery was desecrated in 1938; the gravestones have been missing ever since. The nearby honorary grave of Siegmund Cohrs (1845-1924), patron of the Hohenlychen sanatorium, was also destroyed by the Nazis. Cohrs – a Christian of Jewish origin – was stripped of his honorary citizenship at the time and was not returned until 2013.

Large, well-kept lawn with seating and a portable toilet; next to the jetty is a perfect channel for pulling a canoe ashore or paddling.
