The barrier at Meldorf harbor allows cutters and pleasure boats to enter and leave the harbor regardless of the tide. Thanks to the view of the North Sea and the harbor, the barrier is a popular destination for bicycle tours. In the summer season, a fish sandwich stand invites you to take a short break.

Fishing port where the fishing boats are moored at the quay. Idyllic, beautiful to look at. In addition to tourist shipping with trips to the islands and tours of the North Sea, Büsum port is also known for its commercial fishing.

The first wooden lighthouse was built in Büsum in 1878 and stood until 1913 on the dike where the entrance to the south beach is today. The fishing beacon with the number 730 was removed from the beacon list on October 10, 1913. The replica was built in 2007 at the end of the Büsum museum harbor. South of the new Meldorf harbor is the 532-hectare Kronenloch nature reserve. Here, for the first time, a saltwater biotope with a tidal influence was created on the west coast within a dike.
