An old spear works/harbor. The trip there is worth it. If you're on a bike, you can take a short detour around the harbor basin to get there.

There are also delicious fish sandwiches next door.

To enter Meldorf Harbor by boat, you must first pass through the barrier. It only closes automatically during extreme high tides. The green light indicates that passage is permitted, but a sound signal is mandatory. Boats passing through the barrier with the rising or falling tide must be granted right of way. The harbor does not dry out completely at low tide.

Meldorf Harbor/Sports Boat Harbor
At high tide, the water surface of Meldorf Harbor covers approximately 8 hectares. The majority of it is used as a sports boat harbor by water sports clubs.

Of the approximately 130 berths, approximately 10 are reserved for guests. In addition, free berths reserved by club members are always available to guests. The Meldorf Sailing Club hosts several water sports events in the harbor every year. A small portion of the harbor is used by the State Office for Coastal Protection and some fishermen.

At low tide, large parts of the harbor, which was originally tide-independent, dry out, limiting access to berths and other uses. Ongoing silting measures are intended to achieve a water depth that will allow the harbor to be used largely without restrictions for the vessels normally used here.
