Traces of the first settlements in the current Neibsheim district probably date back to the first century AD. The current town itself was first mentioned in documents in 770 under its current name "Neibsheim". From 1365 onwards the village belonged to the Speyer cathedral chapter. In the following centuries the residents had to endure several disputes. The consequences of the Thirty Years' War made things difficult for the village. In 1674 Neibsheim was plundered again. It was then under French occupation for several years. In 1802 Neibsheim left the property of the Speyer diocese. From 1810 the 2nd Bruchsal district office, later the district office, ran the administration. In 1936 Neibsheim was assigned to the Bruchsal district.
