The small former fishing village of Hohwacht has a very special attraction: right on the main beach there is a unique sea platform - the so-called "Hohwachter Flunder". It owes its unusual name to its unique shape, which is reminiscent of a flatfish. With its 24-meter-high steel pylon, which can be seen from afar, the pier has now become the most popular landmark of the Baltic Sea spa town of Hohwacht.

The Sehlendorfer Binnensee nature reserve is located in the municipality of Blekendorf Sehlendorf. It is crossed by a hiking trail that takes you to the most interesting places and offers breathtaking views from two platforms, among other things. The Sehlendorfer Binnensee is one of the few beach lakes on the Baltic coast that still has an open connection to the Baltic Sea, the Broeck. This increases the salt content in the lake when Baltic Sea water flows in and decreases when the water level is lower. The changing salt content is crucial for a very special animal and plant world in this protected area. The wall is partially over-thinned and is home to beach grass and beach rye as well as protected sea thistles. A typical dry grassland with silver grass, sand sedge, stonecrop and dune pansies has developed on it. The protected inland port of Lippe lies between Hohwacht and Behrensdorf, the Great Inland Lake and the Baltic Sea. It is one of the most original harbors along the coast. The port has 210 berths, including places for guest boaters. In addition to the beautiful natural beach, there is also a campsite with a kiosk.
