We did the hike in October 2025, starting in Xiro Chorio and going clockwise to Chromonastiri, then back through the Mili Gorge. We started on a wide gravel track up to Chromonastiri, and from there descended on a rather overgrown path to the upper entrance of the gorge. The path through the gorge is sometimes difficult to discern, and the railings and rest areas, built in 2015, are in very poor condition, some broken and unusable. The ruins of the mills exude a certain morbid charm and are well worth seeing. Conclusion: A fairly nice hike, but not really a highlight or a "must-do" in Crete for me. 🌟🌟🌟out of 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The street has been faithfully restored to its original appearance during the time of the Order of St. John. Unlike all other tourist streets in the city, there are no souvenir shops or restaurants here. This makes it particularly worth seeing.

Apart from a few millstones, the interior contains nothing that would illustrate the technology.

Rhodes Town seems like a mixture of a medieval town, as we know it from Germany, and a typical Mediterranean town with many restaurants, shops and a magical harbor.

At the center of the old town, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is Socrates Street and Hippocrates Square. Here you can experience ancient, medieval and contemporary Rhodes - all in one. Narrow streets, historic places and a cozy atmosphere with countless restaurants.

The climb to Crete's highest mountain is certainly one of the highlights of a holiday on the island. The shortest and best route starts at the Mygero Refuge (an investment ruin, a shame). At the beginning the path is clearly visible (paved), later it becomes more confusing. You should plan on 5 - 6 hours for the journey there and back, there is an altitude difference of around 850 meters. Sufficient water and weatherproof clothing are a given. But the mountain is also a real eye-catcher from a distance. Before you start the climb, get weather information. A dream route with sun and little wind.
