The tower is cordoned off and inaccessible. The last renovation was in 1984. I assume that after more than 40 years, it's time for a thorough inspection of the tower and its 125 steps leading to the viewing platform.

Unfortunately it is still scaffolded at the moment... so a visit to the top is not possible

The Turmberg is the local mountain of the former residence town of Durlach in Baden. It is 256 meters high and the northwesternmost peak of the Black Forest at the transition between the low mountain range and the Kraichgau hilly landscape. The path to the tower from Hermannsee via Theodor-Bornett-Weg begins very flat, but then becomes increasingly steep and rocky. A challenge, also for eMTB (but it's fun with it ...)
