The facility was completed in 1985 after approximately nine years of construction. At a cost of approximately 10 million DM, it was one of the largest inner-city recreational areas in Germany created outside of a garden show. The view is worth it, even though you don't expect it.

Wonderful view from the top of the mountain which was settled over 6000 years ago... the chapel is freely accessible... there is an inn next door

Fantastic view far into the Rhine Valley... for example as far as Mannheim, Phillipsburg... even into the Black Forest and over to our French neighbors

Unfortunately it is still scaffolded at the moment... so a visit to the top is not possible
