The Brandeckkopf is located on the western edge of the Black Forest and is 685.8 m above sea level. NHN[1] the highest mountain in Offenburg. It is located in the district of Zell-Weierbach. On its summit is the 23 m[2] high Brandeck Tower, built in 1895 from stamped concrete, a lookout tower. The mountain is located in the middle of the 1897 hectare Brandeck nature reserve. Observation tower at 870 m altitude. Approximately 104 steps lead up a spiral stone staircase. From up there you have a fantastic 360° all-round view.

With good visibility you can see almost the entire Black Forest - from the Badnerhöhe in the north to the Blauen in the south, with Kandel, Feldberg and Belchen in between.

The ruins of the Schauenburg above the town of Oberkirch are worth a visit. Entry is free. In the castle there is a plaque about the history of the castle. The view is also impressive. At the foot of the ruin is an inn.

Great atmosphere today and again very different from last time.

There are several seating areas at the Moosturm, one of which is covered in a pavilion. The 360 degree view from the tower is unique in Ortenau. For me, the nicer place to linger when the weather is nice is the Lothar monument with its seating on the rocks above the sculpture. Here you have a permanently beautiful view when you take a break.
