The Protestant St. Martin's Church is one of Zschopau's landmarks. Its origins can be traced back to 1494. The late Gothic perimeter walls from this period are still visible in the choir area. The building subsequently suffered several city fires. St. Martin's Church's current Baroque appearance dates largely from 1751, although the tower was not completed until 1798. It was designed by Siegert, a master carpenter from Schneeberg. The interior features the third-largest surviving Baroque organ in Saxony, created by Jacob Oertel from Grünhain. The dam of the reservoir was built in connection with the construction of the Röhrgraben (Röhr ditch) from 1396 to 1404. It served as a reservoir for the Röhrgraben and the stamp mills located there. This is where Station 16 of the mining trail is located.

The Greifenbachstauweiher (also Dammteich or Geyerscher Teich) is located between Geyer and Ehrenfriedersdorf and was originally created for mining. The lake is now used for domestic water supply, flood protection and recreational purposes, including swimming and boating. The Greifenbachstauweiher is one of the oldest dams in Germany.
