I love these lovingly designed entrance gates, which have a very personal feel and stand out from the standardized town entrance signs. Beautifully designed.

A somewhat inconspicuous spot is the turnoff to, among other things, the forest campsite. There's a fence directly under the bridge, but the gate was open. I hope it stays that way permanently. However, there's also a small detour you could take, which takes you a little further on over a bridge to cross the B174.

For a short stretch, the old B174 runs alongside the new B174. Only on the old B174 can I see all the way to Augustusburg in peace. The new federal highway is a two-lane bypass, so stopping might not be a good idea ;-)

The Protestant St. Martin's Church is one of Zschopau's landmarks. Its origins can be traced back to 1494. The late Gothic perimeter walls from this period are still visible in the choir area. The building subsequently suffered several city fires. St. Martin's Church's current Baroque appearance dates largely from 1751, although the tower was not completed until 1798. It was designed by Siegert, a master carpenter from Schneeberg. The interior features the third-largest surviving Baroque organ in Saxony, created by Jacob Oertel from Grünhain. Equally remarkable is the neoclassical altar from 1858. https://www.schloss-wildeck.de/historischer-stadtrundgang
