The Fountain of Joy of Life is a fountain located at the central University Square in the center of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. The walk-in fountain is also known locally as the "Porno Fountain."[1] The fountain was created by the sculptors Reinhard Dietrich and Jo Jastram and inaugurated on June 27, 1980.

Kröpeliner Straße, affectionately called "Kröpi" by Rostock residents, is THE shopping and tourist district in Rostock. Besides a few original shops, you'll find the usual stores and chains found in all major cities. However, the numerous old houses, albeit renovated to a high standard, are almost all still standing. A visit is therefore worthwhile, especially for the stunning facade architecture.

Rostock has a very nice pedestrian zone with numerous shops and places to eat.

The zoo here is quite large and spacious. There are lots of animals here... and plenty of playgrounds and small snack stands.

The tower houses three bells, the oldest and smallest of which is a bronze bell cast in 1627. Two further bronze bells had to be handed over for war purposes in 1918 and were replaced in 1923 by two cast iron bells.

Inside the church, the dome vault contains 14th-century frescoes that were discovered and restored in 1899. The women painted in the choir vault depict the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. On the east wall of the nave is a solitary painting of the Deposition from the Cross, and in the choir arch opposite the pulpit is a depiction of the Flagellation of Jesus.
