In 2000, during construction work, parts of a sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Egyptian deity Isis and the oriental Mater Magna were discovered. It was presumably in use until the 3rd century. At the Gonsenheimer Narrhalla, on Breite Straße, you'll also find the two monuments to the Committeeman and Till. Both were designed by the jack-of-all-trades Herbert Bonewitz, carnivalist, cabaret artist, and free spirit. The "Schöneres Gonsenheim" association, led by the energetic Dr. Rainer Roßkopf, took over their implementation in 1998.
