The Church of Peace was built in the 14th century, renovated in the 16th century, and refurbished in 1743. In 1866, the church tower had to be demolished. By 1869, the entire church had become so dilapidated that it had to be torn down. The new church was designed according to a sketch by Frederick William IV and consecrated as the Church of Peace on July 7, 1871, as its completion coincided with the end of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71.

In the heart of the Bürgerpark Pankow, goats live in a fenced, slightly hilly enclosure. It's a popular attraction for young and old. The goats have all been given names.

A historic ensemble. Between 1949 and 1960, it served as the residence of the President of the GDR. Wilhelm Pieck, the first and only President of the GDR, lived and worked here. Towards the end of the GDR, important discussions and negotiations took place in and around the palace. It was a meeting place between East and West, a symbol of rapprochement and the beginning of profound changes in Germany.
