Housed in the former Château de Thurnburg, the Hôtel de Ville de Wintzenheim is a historic building dating back to the 16th century and has served as the town hall since 1853. Originally owned by the Knights Hospitaller of Colmar, the building reflects the rich history of the region, with stained glass windows in the council chamber showing the coats of arms of successive owners.

A beautiful climb with very little traffic. The beginning in Gueberschwihr is quite steep, followed by moderate and steady climbing to the Col du Firstplan.

In this famous wine region (grand cru Hengst) there are remains of fortifications (1275), some old houses (Rue des Laboureurs), the beautiful Fontaine de la Vierge (18th century) and the old castle of the Knights of St John of Thurnberg, now the town hall. On the hill a ruin of a Gallo-Roman villa (1st-4th century).

This neoclassical church was built between 1840 and 1844, according to plans by architect Caillot from Colmar, to replace an older parish church that stood further away in the village. The Saint-Laurent church stands out with its sober, harmonious façade and its spacious, light interior. In addition to regular masses, concerts and choirs are also organised here, making the church a lively meeting place in the heart of Wintzenheim.

Cimetière Militaire Français du Wettstein The Cimetière Militaire Français du Wettstein, located on the Col du Wettstein near Orbey, is an impressive French military cemetery from the First World War. It contains the remains of 3,535 French soldiers, mainly mountain chasseurs, who died during the fierce fighting at Le Linge in 1915. Many of them are buried in two ossuaries. The site is marked by a monumental cross with the inscription "PAX" and a bronze statue of a dying soldier, which gives the whole a subdued and poignant atmosphere. This necropolis, also known as the “cemetery of the chasseurs”, is a silent witness to the horrors of war and a place of reflection in the middle of the mountain landscape.
