Great bivouac area which allows you to settle down at the bottom of the valley before continuing the days of climbing! Water is nearby and you can take a shower at the Valsenestre gîte with free participation! Please note, there is no network throughout the valley, only the refuge will allow you to have wifi and send a message. Magnificent lake, accessible from Venosc, Valsenestre and Lauvitel. You can choose to bivouac on the south shore or sleep at the lake refuge in the north. As for the water temperature, it's cool... The setting is splendid and the Muzelle Glacier is visible and turns pink in the evening. A magnificent pass which gives the impression of moving between two worlds. Accessible from the Lac de la Muzelle bivouac or the Valsenestre bivouac. On 16th March 2024, the snow is about half meter thick, in some area like 1 meter. it is not easy for beginners. I completed 2/3 for 7 hours. Car will be blocked 3 kilometers away from the starting point, so you will walk 6 km more. The route is covered by the snow. I recommend to walk in the river bed when you reach 1600 m or higher. Nice walk though.
