Located at an altitude of 1,349 meters, the Croix de l'Izon offers a number of incredible views of the Vercors massif, the Grenoble metropolitan area and the rest of the Alps.

Renovated in the 1990s, this fort once housed 25 artillery pieces and a garrison of 477 men. With the mission of protecting the surroundings of Grenoble at the time, today it is a museum and a great place to take a break and enjoy the view. There is a restaurant, but I recommend checking in advance if you plan to eat there, as it is temporarily closed as I write.

And above all go up to the Izon cross with a 360 degree view which is very close to the fort...
