One of the most beautiful views along the Wasserliesch Panorama Trail! From here, the view opens up far over the Moselle Valley. A perfect spot for a short break and a souvenir photo. 📸🍇

Look at Igel on the other bank. The eye-catcher is the Sankt Dionysius, the old Catholic parish church. It is a beautiful building with a rich history.

St. Aper is the church of the Catholic parish of St. Aper Wasserliesc. It is the only parish church in Germany to hold the patronage of Bishop and Confessor Aper; from 500 to 507 he was the 7th bishop of the then diocese of Toul in the French region of Lorraine. The St. Aper Church in Wasserliesch was built in 1910/1911 as a neo-baroque staircase hall with three parts. The planning and construction supervision was in the hands of the regionally renowned architect and church architect Peter Marx from Trier. He used reinforced concrete, which was still a new building material at the time, which was unusual for a sacred building. The exterior of the church is simply designed. The layouts are made of light sandstone with rough plastered wall surfaces, the roof surfaces are covered with slate. It is a beautiful building to visit.
