Beautiful hiking destination

Very nice lake with a small kiosk, nice for chilling.

Definitely an interesting fountain. The design is somewhere between bizarre and disturbing. You can clearly see what ideas the artist had, but the result is rather frightening. It makes you wonder whether this also describes the state of the town friendship.

The spa gardens were laid out in 1955 by the well-known garden architect Valentin, covering an area of 70,000 square metres. A strikingly beautiful tree stands directly at the rear entrance to the Südpfalz Therme. It is a trumpet tree. The English botanist and plant collector Mark Catesby discovered this tree in North America around 1725 and sent seeds from it to England. Everything about this tree is striking: the large, heart-shaped leaves, the lush, white flowers when it blooms in June/July, and the long, vanilla-like pods that decorate the tree in a striking way in winter. In the middle of the spa gardens, on the left-hand side towards Kneippstrasse, we come to the tree whose appearance significantly characterises the spa gardens. It is a causasian wingnut, an impressive tree from the Juglandaceae family that is unrivalled far and wide. The wingnut is a close relative of our walnut, which is particularly evident in spring, when long, greenish catkins decorate the tree. In the front area there are also the Kneipp columns, the water treading pool, information about the Nordic walking center, the Minogolf course, beautiful flower beds, and a statue of St. James.
