Well, I had actually hoped or expected that the dowel bench might have something to do with the devil, but all attempts to prove this using a Low German dictionary failed. They keep offering something to knock into the wall and screw in. The devil, the "Düvel", is supposed to be for that. So I'm at a loss... But maybe someone has a better/nicer explanation than that the dowel bench is a dowel bench... 🤷‍♂️

It is no wonder that the raw material of the good Hamfelder milk thrives particularly well in the beautiful nature.

In the eastern part of the Hahnheide there are several small wetlands and lakes. One of the larger ones is the central pond.
